And the greatest of them all is... PEACE!

2011 was a challenging year across the world as we battled with fallouts from the failings of the banking system, terrorism, wars, rising oil prices and subsequent higher cost of living. How then can we be at peace in this mire of trouble, uncertainty and hardships? Consciously or not,…

Look the part!

Recently a friend has been talking to me about her frustrations at work.  She is a very intelligent person, well educated and very knowledgeable but she is having problems managing staff and relating to colleagues in her new role.  During our recent encounter she appeared to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
When I looked at my friend I realised that one of the possible reasons why she is not being taken seriously in her managerial role is because she does not look the…

What makes a good leader?

Leadership is about working with people, accepting responsibility, understanding people, motivating, developing and encouraging. A good leader is not threatened by the growth and development of his staff; indeed he is encouraged by it. She enjoys empowering people and watching them grow; and she knows when and what to delegate. It is said…

Why We Need to Heal

I was recently asked why people of African heritage need to heal.

and our world?

I thought the answer was obvious, but if it's not, here are some of the many,

many reasons why we need to heal.

Physical health problems, mental health problems, the miseducation of our

children and much more.…

3 Tips for 2010

So here we are: New Year and new decade. Right now millions of people - perhaps yourself included - are setting goals for 2010. But too often those ‘well meant’ New Years Resolutions to get fit, stop smoking, shed weight etc dissolve in weeks. Why do we fail and how can you succeed?
