Profile Information

Your Profile
Network solutionsMy name is Rikki Hicks, and I’ve got a background in the music, entertainment and sport industries.
More recently I’ve been on a journey of my own personal development psychologically.
This has opened many doors to opportunities to connect with other’s who strive for optimal change in their own lives, and also the communities where they live.

NEWcleUS

This has been my brainchild for well over a decade in the form of different concept’s, and ideas.
I could see from my own life experience’s that other faith, and ethnic groups had more success building community awareness, that sad to say have left behind the Afro Caribbean community.
The support, and guidance on how to network differently with other community leaders just wasn’t developed to an level optimal enough to be further duplicated or expanded on.
With the onset of different trend’s in our ever changing society,we as a community owe it to our generation’s in the future to get involved today as well as tomorrow.
Mobile phone app’s have, and our slowly giving the website a run for it’s money. The day’s of keeping up with daily email accounts are challenging to say the very least. For this as well as many others is why valuable information that can benefit our community are not being championed, because of It just seen as another one of many emails that have to be sifted through.
With the introduction of GDPR privacy will be seen as a way of limiting how many, and what type of correspondence we’ll get in the future to a degree, but it’s not going to change us as a community.
The concept of NEWcleUS is to network all of the frontline Afro Caribbean Association’s under one umbrella platform.
By doing this all of the future community project’s,course’s fundraiser’s etc ....!!! can be have a visible presence 24hrs a day 7 day’s a week.
Black owned businesses can brand themselves with an entity that represent’s them,
that gives them a presence in other Afro Caribbean communities as well as their own,all from a tap on their phone.
Our own celebrities can promote their brands by getting more involved in what’s going on in their own community, which in turn motivates the kid’s aspire for their own individual greatness
That is extremely powerful, when you consider that there are ways of gaining funding through crowdfunding, lottery funding, government grant’s, European Union funding....!!!
One of the main reasons that I see the need for NEWcleUS is the longer we leave it,the less money will be there to get it done in the future.

WHY ???

Other ethnic & faith groups will be more organised than us,and will join together to apply for the funding available
They’ll be applying with other group’s that have there own community belief system’s up & down the country.
In my humble opinion this is where the Afro Caribbean Association’s would be able to capitalise on.We are the ones that know what we need,as we are the one’s that our losing our children, young adult’s to the street’s simply because their option’s aren’t appealing to them because the funding for improved option’s aren’t there. It all just becomes a catch 22 situation that we all know isn’t gonna change unless we change !!!

If this message resonates with you,I’d love to know your feedback

Many thanks in advance !!!

Yours
Rikki Hicks

#Ethnicity Pay Gap... Where Are We Now

Posted by Dianne Greyson on November 29, 2018 at 15:31 0 Comments

In April 2018 I wrote an article about the Ethnicity Pay Gap. I wrote the article to raise awareness about the issue. It received great response and it made me realise more needed to be done.

Whenever possible I shared my views on the subject using the hashtag that I created #EthnicityPayGap and asked others to follow suit to raise the profile. As I continued talking and writing about the topic I began to realise months had passed and not much had changed, that is when I hit upon a…
