Profile Information

Your Profile
I am Dean Okai, I am a business owner and social entrepreneur. I am a Father, who home schools his son, I am a village member that mentors our sons, based on my experience. There is no substitute for experience and I believe in continually sharpening my pencil, so that my experience counts.

I have had businesses since I moved out into the world at 18 and every time a business went down, I would get a job to save stake money and put another educated bet on myself. After 25 years of practical experience in negotiating, selling, raising finance and putting ongoing concerns together, I have enough space in my life to operate a social enterprise.

I am the chairman of 'The Solution Room', a Think Tank formed to execute African/Caribbean infrastructure projects by raising finance to purchase property for tangible projects, including African/Caribbean Chambers of Commerce, Schools, Community Centres, Business Incubators and a News Gathering Agency.

I practice what I preach, by operating independently of the white power structure by owning my own businesses and home schooling my son. we can say what we like, but when you depend on their infrastructure, at some point you will be forced to dance to their tune. The only way to have any autonomy is to call the shots for yourself and be the architect of your own destiny.

I don't profess that what I do is easy, because it is a constant struggle.....that I happen to enjoy every day. Business is problem solving and one thing that happens when you are solving problems every day from finance to logistics and awkward customers is that it sharpens your pencil and gives you a unique way of looking at solutions practically. In it for the wedding, in it for the funeral and I wouldn't have it any other way.

How many Melinated Black people actually want the autonomy from the white system that they profess?

How many Melinated Black people actually want the autonomy from the white system that they profess?

How many know what it really takes to cut that umbilical cord and be all by yourself?

Who knows what it is like to be totally self reliant economically and have dependents with no guarantee of payment at the end of the month.

Well that's what…

Abuse in odd-lots trade

Posted by Carl Tatham on April 26, 2019 at 11:08 0 Comments

For this purpose, my article of choice revolves around the New York Stock Exchange that has been seeking to set equal opportunities for small investors who in most instances don’t get the best of benefit out trading small lots (0-99 shares) like investors trading one (100 shares) or more lots. As per the article, “the exchange has an odd lot system to ensure that small trades, which is priced separately from larger orders, do not get left behind by the “block” trades sent to the big board by…
